Our state-of-the-art technologies ensure accuracy, efficiency, and comfort. Our dental equipment is safe, effective, and well-maintained. Some of our dental technologies include those listed below:

Cerec Same-Day Dental Restorations

CEREC Technology
Dr. Bryce Duskin explains the CEREC crowns procedure at Eagle Family Dental. After a thorough exam, our dentists will decide whether a crown can help you. If so, we will take impressions of your mouth and design your restorations using CAD software. These technologies enable us to prepare porcelain crowns in a single day, so you don’t have to wait until they are ready or wear temporary crowns. Dial (360) 322-1251 to learn more.

So the first thing that happens is one of our highly trained dentists, we’ll do an exam, see if you need a crown. Is a crown the best thing for your tooth or not? And if they’ve determined that crown or a CEC restoration is the best thing for your tooth, they’ll numb it up so that you’re super comfortable. They prep the tooth. Usually what the advantage of CEC is, we can be a lot more conservative, save a lot more of the good tooth. We just take away cavities or broken parts of a tooth, and then we shape it so that the porcelain will fit onto the tooth. After we shaped your tooth, we basically take a scanning wand in your mouth and we take a digital impression. It scans a 3D image of your teeth. Then we put that image of your teeth into our designing software. We use the CAD software to basically design your tooth customly for you and that one tooth. And the technology allows us to use a porcelain that is going to match the color and appearance of your natural tooth. After we’ve designed it, we send it to our milling unit. The milling unit then mills your crown to our specifications, and then we put it in the oven, and the oven heats the crown and makes it a little stronger. And then we put the crown into your mouth. So sometimes we just need to adjust in your mouth occasionally, just so it fits just perfect. But if we determine that everything looks great and feels great, then we glue it on your tooth. The advantage of CEREC is that we can do the crown in one day. So you just come in, have the crown done, and you’d leave with the permanent crown glued in there. You don’t have to worry about temporary crowns, you don’t have to worry about coming back. So that’s the huge advantage. And the dentists get to be a lot more conservative with the tooth preparation because a traditional crown, they cut down a lot more, a good tooth structure to make it work.

Eagle Family Dental has integrated the use of CEREC technology to offer same-day dental crowns to our patients. We are committed to providing the most efficient and effective innovations available, and the CEREC is no exception. The patented CEREC CAD/CAM technology designs and crafts high quality, aesthetic metal-free porcelain crowns in a single patient visit.

CEREC makes dental crowns effective and efficient. First, all of decay is removed from the tooth. Next, we take digital images of the tooth using CEREC’s 3D modeling software. This 3D model is viewed on a high definition screen as our expert dentist designs your crown for a precise fit and aesthetically pleasing look. Once the final design is complete, the CEREC machine crafts the custom crown from a solid block of ceramic. This creates strong and highly durable restorations. In about 15 minutes, the restoration will be ready for placement. Once bonded in place, it is adjusted and polished for a natural, beautiful look.

Using CEREC, patients can leave an appointment with a brand-new restoration. CEREC ends the need for multiple appointments, messy impressions, and weeks of waiting for a lab to make the restoration. Temporary crowns are a thing of the past and are no longer needed and you will be able to eat anything you would like immediately.

You may be a candidate for CEREC same-day crowns if you:

  • Have been told you need a new crown, inlay, onlay or bridge
  • Have a cracked tooth
  • Have broken or old failing fillings
  • Have had damage or trauma to your tooth
  • Are interested in replacing old metal restorations with highly esthetic biocompatible restorations

In general, a CEREC same-day crown appointment can take less than two hours and requires no additional appointments. The 3D imaging technology allows our doctors to design a precise virtual crown without taking a messy traditional impressions. This allows us to ensure your crown looks great, fits perfectly, and can last for years.

Our doctors have the experience and qualifications to care and provide for same day dental crowns. For more information about CEREC and our same-day technology or to schedule an appointment, contact Eagle Family Dental.

Cone Beam Imaging

Cone Beam Technology
Watch this video to understand how 3D-enabled cone beam technology helps us get better images inside the mouth than conventional 2D X-rays. The machine takes images of your jawbone and teeth, facilitating superior diagnostic capabilities and precise treatments. It’s fast, accurate, and enables predictable outcomes.

The beam, the cone beam is just a machine that goes around your head and it takes a 3D image of your jawbone and your teeth. It allows US superior diagnostic case capabilities because usually X-rays are 2D images of 3D things, so we can see more things with a 3D cone beam than we can [00:00:30] with a regular X-ray and with the cone beam than we can treatment plan where exactly an implant should go, and it just really becomes really predictable and easy for patients because we’ve made surgical guides, it makes the surgery go faster. It’s really advantageous to have a cone beam in our office.

Cone Beam imaging is an advanced form of digital radiograph. With the cone beam imager, one simple scan will produce a 3D image of your entire maxillofacial structure. This image can then be used in diagnostics, patient education, treatment planning, and treatment follow-up.

The cone beam provides an effective solution to create quick, clear, precise images for your benefit. Additionally, the cone beam uses minimal radiation in scanning and is a much less-invasive process than other forms of imaging. This makes the cone beam an excellent choice for patients with dental anxiety or a sensitive gag reflex.

By utilizing advanced technologies like the cone beam, we can provide an effective, efficient, and comfortable patient experience for you on every visit.

3D Printing

3D Printing Technology
Dr. Bryce Duskin is excited to talk about 3D printing, which has become a game-changer in dentistry. Eagle Family Dental can already give you permanent crowns designed with 3D printing in Arlington, Washington. Dr. Duskin foresees the possibility of printing bone to reconstruct jaws and teeth comprising enamel, tissue, etc., in the future.

3D printing is new technology to dentistry and this year 3D printing’s come a long way and now we can 3D print permanent crowns and that’s a game changer for dentistry. I’m excited about 3D printing going forward because that’s probably the area dentistry that’s rapidly evolving the quickest. I could see possibly 3D printing evolving in five, 10 years to where printing bone to use to reconstruct jaws. I could see us 3D printing teeth if it could print enamel. I mean, I could make you an enamel crown, which would be crazy. I think 3D printing a tooth with all the tissue and stuff would be amazing, so I think it’s possible. I don’t know when it’d be, but I think it’s going to be really cool.

Digital X-Rays

Our advanced digital x-rays magnify and enhance your teeth for better diagnosis and treatment. This technology allows us to take images of your teeth and display them on a computer screen quickly and easily.

With digital x-rays, we can view your teeth and surrounding structures with remarkable accuracy.  These images provide the information we need to plan your dental treatment.

Digital x-rays require much less radiation than traditional film x-rays. Digital x-rays are a safe and effective dental technology.

Panoramic X-Ray

A Panoramic x-ray machine rotates around your entire head to take a 360-degree view of your teeth, sinuses, and the bone structure of your head and jaw. This provides a more complete image than standard x-rays. Panoramic x-ray imagery is a valuable resource for our doctors to use in diagnosis and treatment planning.

Intra-oral Camera

The intra-oral camera is about the size and shape of a pen. It is used to record images of your teeth, gums, mouth, and tongue from inside your mouth. Due to its small size and sleek design, it is comfortable, easy to use, and able to view a wide range of angles. The intra-oral camera is a safe and effective tool that can be used with patients of every age.

The intra-oral camera is a highly valuable resource for both diagnosis and treatment planning. Each time we use the intra-oral camera, a new disposable cover is employed. This ensures your health and safety at all times. After your exam, images captured by the intra-oral camera may be digitally stored, printed out, and saved for comparison in the future.

Soft Tissue Lasers

With soft tissue lasers at our disposal, our doctors can provide precise high-quality treatments that are relatively pain-free, less invasive, and useful for a wide variety of dental treatments.

A laser is essentially a tiny beam of highly concentrated light. This beam can be used to provide pinpoint accuracy in treatments. Because the laser sterilizes the tissues and seals off blood vessels as it is used, the chance of infection or bleeding following laser treatment is minimal. The soft tissue laser is minimally-invasive, but highly effective.

With the highly versatile soft tissue laser, our doctors can seal nerve endings and blood vessels and treat soft tissues simultaneously. This creates less stress on the gums, which significantly reduces both swelling and bleeding. Moreover, by using the soft tissue laser, our doctors minimize patients’ discomfort both during and after the treatment and lessen your recovery time.

Our doctors uses soft tissue laser technology to provide our patients with precise dental care with a comfortable dental experience.

Cavitron

The Cavitron is a handheld device used in periodontal deep cleaning. While scaling can be completed by hand, the Cavitron uses ultrasonic technology to remove calculus and disrupt the biofilm from teeth and gums quickly, gently and effectively.

With the Cavitron, patients enjoy a more comfortable experience and time spent scaling and polishing is decreased.

Dexis CariVuTM

Dexis CariVuTM is a new, compact, portable decay detection device that uses a patented transillumination technology. This technology uses light to produce an image like that of an x-ray, but without the x-ray exposure. CariVu is safe for patients of any age and can be particularly helpful for patients with small mouths or strong gag reflex.

With the CariVu, we can safely and effectively detect cracks and cavities as we view the scan on a high-definition monitor. Also, with the CariVu technology, we can reduce the need for X-ray exposure by roughly 50% over time.

Intra-Oral Scanner

What is the secret to making a great impression? At Eagle Family Dental, we use our intra-oral digital scanner to ensure that the impressions we take are accurate, efficient, and comfortable every time.

Impressions are necessary for the fabrication of dental restorations, such as crowns, bridges, and dental implants. Our hand-held intra-oral scanner takes 3-dimensional digital video impressions with proven accuracy. Even the most challenging cases can be accurately scanned with our intra-oral scanner.

Another benefit to you is reduced time. When we send precise digital scans to our lab, your restorations require less preparation work and can be fabricated more quickly. This means you can have your restoration placed and be enjoying the results sooner than with traditional impression methods.

In the past, you may have experienced dental trays that filled with a soft substance that hardened into an impression of your mouth and teeth. With the intra-oral scanner’s small hand-held wand, we can take accurate digital impressions quickly and easily, without tripping your gag reflex.

Even more, as we complete your scan, you will be able to view the impression on the monitor along with us. This allows you to see more precisely why we have recommended restoration for your oral health needs.

We look forward to seeing you again at your next appointment with us. We love to make a great impression.

Rotary Endodontics Handpiece

A rotary endodontics handpiece is a tool designed to be used in root canal therapy. By using this handpiece, we can complete the treatment gently and efficiently. This allows you to have a quicker and more comfortable treatment experience.

VELscope Oral Cancer Screening Light

This handheld scope uses a special blue-spectrum light to scan the tissues in the mouth. This light creates distinct visual patterns on health and unhealthy tissues through natural fluorescence. With this screening light, we can more accurately discover potential oral cancers in early, highly treatable stages.
